Chef Demo’s occur the first Saturday of every month during the market season. This week features Chef Leah Bodine, owner of Blue Dragonfly Catering. Make sure to stop by the Chef Demo Tent near the entrance to the market to see what Chef Leah is cooking up.
Chef Leah Bodine is a self-taught, accidental chef. With over 30 years in the restaurant industry, building her career on casual fine dining Italian steakhouses, Leah was in the front of the house but always wanted to learn the recipes and methods from the restaurant chef. She started going in early to learn how to prep, cook and plate dishes. After returning home to the Champaign area, Leah decided to take the plunge and open her catering company in 2009. For the last 10 years, Leah has been catering private events, weddings, and has also catered for some of the classic rock talent who have performed in our area. Recently, Leah has started private cooking classes and teaching classes at Grovestone at Old Farm Shops. Her love and passion for cooking has taken Leah into many different cuisines including Mediterranean, Italian, and German.
