What selection of products can I find at the Market?

Urbana’s Market at the Square showcased over 140 registered vendors in 2016. Patrons can choose from a wide variety of made-in-Illinois goods at the Market, including fresh produce, meat and dairy products, prepared foods, plants, and flowers to jewelry, pottery, wood workings, candles, bodycare products, garden décor, clothing, and more!

Will the Market be cancelled if the weather is bad?

The Market is open 7AM to Noon every Saturday from the first weekend of May through the first weekend of November, RAIN OR SHINE!!! Market programming, like Sprouts at the Market and Art at the Market runs rain or shine and will not be cancelled unless there is significant weather. Where are the products at the Market grown and made?

Urbana’s Market at the Square is a producer-only Market. That means that you can count on everything you’re purchasing has been grown, made, produced locally and in Illinois. Does the Market offer a wide variety of products each week?

What forms of payment does the Market accept?

Beginning in 2013, Urbana’s Market at the Square phased out the credit/debit token portion of the Market Scratch system. NO CHANGES WERE MADE TO THE LINK TOKEN SYSTEM. Any outstanding credit/debit tokens issued in previous seasons will be accepted, however, no more credit/debit tokens will be distributed. Are parking and restrooms available at the Market?

There is ample parking around Lincoln Square Mall (for free). There are public restroom facilities located within the City of Urbana building, across the street from the Market.

Can I bring my pets to the Market?
For the safety of our patrons, dogs and other animals are not permitted within Lot 10X at the Market. If we see any animals at the Market, we will require the owner to take them out of the Market.  There are two exceptions to this rule. Service Animals are permitted and, subject to Market Director approval, animal rescue community groups are permitted to bring animals to their assigned community group space located in row #5 of the Market.

Does the Market offer other things for my family to do besides shopping?

Urbana’s Market at the Square is the place for families! Children ages 3-8 can participate for free in Sprouts at the Market and any one of any age can participate for free in Art at the Market.

What else can I do at the Market?

Urbana’s Market at the Square is a really fun experience, and it’s not always about the produce. Run into old friends. Have breakfast and a coffee. Share a recipe with someone. Grab an early lunch and hang around to listen to the live music.
